Research: Our research group focuses on the risks and opportunities of emerging technologies in infrastructure, food, water, and energy systems. We apply systems modeling, agent-based modeling, environmental impact assessment, and machine learning to support sustainable and climate-resilient decision-making. These methods help identify feedback loops in complex systems to help society stay within planetary boundaries. Core areas include infrastructure planning, climate risk, circular bioeconomy, and transportation-land use interactions.
Join Us: We are currently recruiting PhD students for research on:
- Infrastructure adaptation at the urban-rural interface under extreme weather
- Environmental impacts of autonomous and electric vehicle adoption
- Energy transitions and the circular bioeconomy
As a student, you’ll develop strong research skills, present at international conferences, and collaborate globally. We welcome applicants from engineering, environmental science, economics, or related fields.
